Not sure what the arrow means, but it seems to be rolled out to everybody (at least I see it in different browsers, including ‘incognito’ mode). Does anybody have a clue? (See Update below)

UPDATE:
Seems like arrow is used for navigation — you can press “up” and “down” keys, which is not very intuitive (I personally tried “j”/”k” shortcuts just like in Gmail).
